SAEP addresses the need for universal, quality ECD programmes in township communities through partnerships with and support for 10 educare centres (preschools).

SAEP works with students in severely under-performing township high schools through a variety of academic and enrichment programmes.

In 2003, SAEP launched a unique “bridging year” internship to provide an intensive skill-enhancement and leadership programme to recent township graduates as preparation for tertiary study, jobs and the professions.

SAEP's Tertiary Support Programme provides small bursaries and intensive mentorship to former Bridging Year Interns attending tertiary institutions (university or further education and training colleges).
