"I
joined SAEP in 2000 because I was in a debating society and we did
not have any teacher taking care of us. We asked SAEP for help
with challenging debates and improving our English language. After
a few months I could see the difference, because we entered a
competition that involved the multiracial schools. We were the
only so-called black school and we managed to do exceptionally
well. I
then graduated from high school in 2002, but did not have money to
continue my education. I also needed to find out what I really
wanted to do. So I decided to engage my self in a gap year program
which mainly concentrates on Community Service. I
am working with SAEP because I believe I can make a difference in
the lives of other learners in Philippi. SAEP’s philosophy has
been to care about all kinds of environments, the social
environment and the natural environment. With a bit of help on my
part I believe we can carry this philosophy through. With just a
bit of care and unlock the limitless potential they possess. If it
is not me Luzuko who is going to do it, then who will? Next
year I plan to pursue a course in Public Relations. The help I can offer is in the area of assisting kids to express themselves:
