By Raymond Hill

A Canadian student, based at the Newell High School in New Brighton for four months, has completed her study of the environment in Port Elizabeth.

Neda Pourfallah, 23, presented a copy of her report about the environment to teachers and pupils at the school yesterday.

She is studying biology at the University College of the Fraser Valley, British Columbia, Canada.

She was invited to PE by members of the Southern Africa Environment Project.

Miss Pourfallah said the "Global Learning to Benefit the Environment" project was on "the verge of taking flight."

"The pupils at Newell High School have fully embraced environmental education.   They have found the key to a brighter tomorrow for themselves and their country," he said.

Miss Pourfallah said she had learned much about the environment while in PE.
