On 9-10 September there was a two day residential at Sea Scout, Sandvlei, for all those involved in the cleanup. The residential involved a visit to the National Botanical Gardens at Kirstenbosch and a debate on the recent Government proposal to ban plastic carrier bags, as well as discussions as to how best to proceed in future cleanup activities in Philippi.
