In our area of Philippi, two schools were built, a High School, Sinethemba Senior Secondary School, and a Primary school, Masivuke Primary.

Education does not take place only in the schools. There have been a number of educational projects that had been held in Philippi outside school hours. These projects were to increase awareness in such things as Littering, HIV/Aids and the improvement in the living standards by starting up one's own business. These projects they are mostly being held in the schools, because they want the learners to be awake and aware of all the obstacles that they are facing living in the Township and facing the future. Related educational projects included work by the Southern Africa Environment Project at Sinethemba High School and the community as a wholeto give more knowledge about the effect of littering and bad waste management on the environment.
