     My name is Ayanda Mpu.  I'm 19 years old. I matriculated from Sinethemba Senior Secondary School, Philippi, Cape Town, South Africa and am a student doing a diploma course in Computer Programming (IT Programming) at the Imperial Underwood Campus in Cape Town.

In my programming course, my favorite part is HTML where I do other languages such as Visual Basic and Java Script.  When I have finished my course, I want to create my own programs that will be used by every one.

     This is the first time I enter ThinkQuest as a participant and so far I enjoy being a participant because I love technology and I would like to get more knowledgeable about it.  It is one of my ambitions to take part in projects that can make me play with technology, and I'm looking forward to enter other projects with ThinkQuest. 

During 2003 I am working as a volunteer intern for the Southern Africa Environment Project (SAEP).  SAEP provides academic support and enrichment at Sinethemba High School.  One of my major activities will be helping students at my former high school develop basic computer and IT skills.  In 2004, I hope to further my IT studies at Peninsula Technikon, located near Cape Town.

     My Details: I’m Luyanda Bolisi, age 17, doing my final year, grade 12, at Sinethemba Senior Secondary School in Philippi Township, Cape Town.

I’m mostly interested in computers, and after I matriculate I'm going to do IT to increase my knowledge about computers. So far I have done a six-month course that gave me some computer skills like installing Windows and other programmes and some software skills like using animation programmes, etc. 

I am a leader in the Southern Africa Environment Project programme at Sinethemba High where I have participated for the last three years in SAEP activities including debating competitions at the local and provincial levels, poetry writing, and environmental awareness and improvement campaigns in our community.

Other activities I am interested in are as follows:

  • Poetry

  • Music 

  • Soccer 

  • Reading and writing
