Noluthando Educare

Principal: Ncumeka Jacobs; 51 children; 3 staff members.

Noluthando Educare was established more than ten years ago and has seen major improvements and progress happening since joining SAEP in 2003. Noluthando recently registered with the Department of Social Services and now receives state subsidy. In 2007, thanks to generous support from Breadline Africa and SAEP volunteers, Noluthando’s roof was replaced and the leaking classrooms were tiled and painted. A new toilet block was erected on site, and the outside area was paved to prevent flooding and mud during the winter months. Best of luck to Noluthando as an independent crèche!

I have had many days in Hope Scholars and I can teach other people what I have learned and all the things we have done. My teacher asks me, "What have you eaten? Why are you so respectful?" And I say nothing have I eaten. I just joined Hope Scholars. The teacher says that before I was not doing school work like I do now. She says I am also better to others. For this I am glad to be in Hope Scholars.
