Environmental Education Programme. Through afterschool workshops and weekend hikes, this programme gives township learners access to knowledge about their natural heritage, allows them to be inspired by outdoors experiences, and offers them refuge from the dense urban settlements in which they live. Led by tutors and skilled guides, the wilderness excursions also build upon and bring to life the students' Life Sciences and Geography curricula. Link to: Photos.

-
Inkanyezi. This organization provides information and counselling on further education and careers to learners in Grades 9, 11, and 12 at several of the high schools where SAEP works.
| | | “ I have had many days in Hope Scholars and I can teach other people what I have learned and all the things we have done. My teacher asks me, "What have you eaten? Why are you so respectful?" And I say nothing have I eaten. I just joined Hope Scholars. The teacher says that before I was not doing school work like I do now. She says I am also better to others. For this I am glad to be in Hope Scholars. ” - Abongile, Hope Scholars Programme | | | | | |
