SAEP is now a registered cause on Facebook.com! A short SAEP profile, photos and myriad ways to support the cause are offered on the page.  If you are a member of the Facebook universe, you can check out the SAEP page by going to www.causes.com/saep.

Please consider joining the cause, recruiting your friends to the cause, and/or making a donation through the page by way of Network for Good.

NB: All donations recieved online through saep.org or Facebook will be subject to a processing fee, equal to a small percentage of your gift, charged by the administrator (either PayPal or Network for Good). To guarantee that 100% of your donation reaches SAEP, the best way to give is by mailing a cheque.

Note to South African Businesses:

Since the gazetting of the Black Economic Empowerment Codes of Good Practice in 2007, donors can now score points on the BEE Score Card by contributing to SAEP.  Points can be scored in two elements, Socio Economic Development and Enterprise Development.  If your annual turnover is between R 5 million and R 35 million, you can score 25 points in each of these elements.  If your annual turnover is over R 35 million, you can score 5 points for Socio Economic Development and 15 points for Enterprise Development.  With this incentive in mind, SAEP has partnered with ONE Creative Social Investment to ensure that contributions are in line with the BEE guidelines and the necessary documentation is completed.

From its beginnings in 1998 in a single high school in the Cape Flats, SAEP has developed a number of innovative programmes of community development through education in Philippi and surrounding townships... As SAEP relies on a wide base of support, we are happy to confirm that in the experience of the Mandela Rhodes Foundation, SAEP is a most worthwhile partner and an organisation of integrity. If you are able to offer assistance of any kind, we are confident you will find the association rewarding.
- Shaun Johnson, Chief Executive of the Mandela Rhodes Foundation
