Leaving a legacy is a lasting way to reflect your beliefs and values and is the most significant personal statement you can make for child protection and the advancement of education. These gifts are vital to the work of the South African Education Project and enable us to be guardians of children in need, to care for the less advantaged and needy and to provide a safe environment.
Legacies are used carefully, to ensure that they achieve the greatest possible impact and make a
positive difference in the lives of children, parents, teachers and schools.

Your legacy will enable us to continue providing holistic education through academic tutoring,
extended experiential learning, life skills, and psycho-social support for children and young
adolescents. Your gift will help us to promote access to education and develop well rounded
and resilient young people who can survive the many challenges they face without falling into
unemployment, crime, and neglect. 

Every bequest is important to us – large and small – as they help to build a future where children have access to quality education and can achieve a decent quality of life.

Residuary Gift
The easiest way to leave a legacy is to leave the residue of your estate. Some choose to leave the entire residue, while others give a percentage of the estate once all other gifts, fees, debts and taxes have been paid. The advantage of leaving a residuary gift is that it automatically keeps pace with inflation so your legacy retains its value. It also means that you don’t have to amend your Will if circumstances change.

Pecuniary Gift
This is simply a sum of money, which you can arrange to keep pace with inflation.

Specific Gift
This gift is an item of value, such as jewelry, property, stocks or shares.

Your legacy will enable us to continue the fight against abuse, neglect and provide access to quality education for children and adolescents in multi deprivation communities where it’s most needed. Your gift will help us to effect change.

Suggested wording for your Will:

I (full name), leave the residue/xx% of my estate/the sum of R________ to the South African
Education Project, Non-Profit Org. No 028 310 NPO and Public Benefit Org. No PBO 930010069, to be used at the South African Education Project’s discretion. The receipt of an authorised officer of the South African Education Project shall be an absolute discharge to my executors.
